Thank you to everyone who has worked to get this resolution to this point!
Vern Larsen brought us great news just minutes just before the resolution was brought up in the Senate Education Committee, that The State Board of Education had voted unanimously to support the resolution.
ALL Children Have The Right to Feel Safe at School.
It is OUR job to protect their rights!
Senator-D Patrice Arent and Rep-R Ronda Menlove are COOL! Reed Cowan gave another dramatic testimony including the unbelievable news that just hours earlier a teen was caught with a .45 caliber handgun at Union High in Roosevelt, the very same school where Reed was bullied for the balance of his 12 years in rural public schools.
Listen to audio of the Senate Education Committee hearing
This will be a tough fight in the House. We MUST continue to speak out!

Thank you so much for this timely legislation!
I, like so many other parents have heard and seen the news reports over the years of school shootings happening, usually because a kid was bullied and pushed beyond what they felt they could endure. I’m glad to know that we adults are showing these kids that we are aware of them and the senseless, inhumane treatment they have and do receive from fellow students.
I will be watching the outcome of this legislation with great interest and would like to be involved in its passage, if I can do so.
Thanks,
Perilyn Barton

I’m so very glad that I seen this in the news. I’m in need of some help…my son is failing in school and not going to some of his classes, when talking to him, I found out that yes he is having this problem and the school that he’s attending has a very bad reputation for this problem. I lay down asking my self how can I step in to stop this from happening agian to my son and for any child. My newphew who goes to this school is much worse treatment from my son has a very low self asteam due to this problem, that my son is asking me to exchange his lunch to be with my nephew. How can I step in to stop this…just finding out that one boy told a girl to kick my son in his private part, then it happen. Please call me to help me to the next step. 801-792-2897

slapping is one thing but sorry, if a girl raises her fist or foot? He should have decked her then him. Maybe thats not the answer but it IS what they understand.
You can bring this under administraitive control actually. If you have approached the heads at the school and they’ve taken no actions or inadiquate action head right up the tree darlin. Go to the next person up from them and keep going until it stops. You can put pressure on people who do nothing.
